Biography
He was born on January 1, 1977. In 1996 he graduated from the Optical-Mechanical Lyceum and was qualified as a "wide-profile optician". In 2001 he graduated from the Department of Optical Materials Science and Optics of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Precision Mechanics and Optics (Technical University) and was qualified as an engineer with a specialization in Optical Technologies and Materials.
In 2014 he graduated from the post-graduate course at the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University) and defended his thesis on specialty 01.04.05 "Optics", PhD in Physics and Mathematics.
From 1999 to 2002, he worked at the Corning Research Center in St. Petersburg, one of the world's largest optical companies in the US, as a laboratory assistant and research associate.
From 2003 to the present time he has been conducting scientific and pedagogical work at the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University), having consistently held the position of Senior Research Scientist (2005-2012), Assistant of the Department of Optoinformation Technologies and Materials ) (2012-2015), Associate Professor of the Department of Optoinformation Technologies and Materials (from 2015 to the present).
Since 2003 he has been acting as Deputy Head of the Department of Optoelectronic Technologies and Materials and Deputy Director of the Research Center for Nanophotonics and Optoinformatics of the ITMO University. From 2012 to the present, he acts as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Photonics and Optoinformatics to work with non-resident students.
Rohmin A.S. is an author of more than 20 scientific papers. Scientific researches are published in leading domestic and foreign journals. He participated in Russian and international conferences and symposia. He was the chairman of the International Feofilov Symposiums - XIV- and XVI- International Feofilov Symposium on Spectroscopy of Crystals Doped with Rare Earth and Transition Metal Ions (2010, 2015).
